Bladder Cancer

Smoking tobacco is known to increase the risk of developing bladder cancer. Environmental and occupational exposures are also linked with bladder cancer.

“I have had several meetings with Cliff and would recommend Bridge McFarland to anyone who is in need of advice and help. Everything was done in a friendly and professional manner. In my case all was carried out to an exceptionally high degree. Cliff's secretary, Christine, was excellent in all the corespondence associated with my queries. I personally would not use any other professional organisation. Highly satisfied. Thank you all very much.”

Bladder Cancer is a common tumour found in the urinary system. It appears to be most common in men, white persons & the elderly.

What occupations may be associated with bladder cancer?

Rubber manufacture, painters, aluminium industry, metal workers, leather industry, textile workers, mechanics, dyestuffs, printing industry, petroleum industry, foundry workers, hairdressers, dockworkers exposed to carbon black.

What compensation am I entitled to?

Compensation can be paid for pain, suffering and loss of the ability to do normal activities. In addition, financial losses and expenses may be claimed. Each claim is very different and it is best to seek advice on your particular circumstances.

Will you take my case over from my current/previous solicitor?

Claims for compensation for any cancer are complex and solicitors who do not have extensive experience of such claims may lack the skills to win the claim/ maximise your compensation.

We sometimes take on claims that have been abandoned by other solicitors, if we feel that there is merit in the claim.

Please contact us if you require more information.

My employer/insurer is untraceable can I still make a claim?

We regularly win compensation against defunct companies.  We are usually able to trace either a successor organisation who has taken over the liabilities or an insurer. Over the years, we have built up a reservoir of knowledge and source of contacts which often help us to win the claims.  On the rare occasions when we cannot trace someone to pay, we look to see if there is an alternative organisation to claim from. For example, the occupier of the premises, another contractor or product supplier.

Am I eligible for government compensation?

Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit is payable for bladder cancer caused by work.  For any type of cancer which causes disability, Disability Living Allowance and other benefits may be payable.
