“I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done. Your advice throughout has been wonderful - and you have been a great source of support over a difficult time. My son Geoffrey also asked for his thanks to be passed on to you.”

We can assist in reclaiming care home fees if you or a family member have been incorrectly assessed by the local authority.

For example, an appeal on behalf of a Lincolnshire family by Bridge McFarland, recently helped them reclaim over £20,000.

The funding rules for financing elderly care in a residential or nursing home are complex but the law says that people with assets above £23,250 should pay for their care in full unless they are entitled to NHS Continuing Healthcare funding to pay for nursing care.

It is not always realised that homes and other significant assets can sometimes be disregarded altogether when calculating assets and, as a result, many people have been forced unnecessarily into selling their homes and other assets to pay for fees.

Anyone who thinks that a relative has been wrongly refused NHS funding for nursing care should seek advice immediately. The initial rejection of an application for funding does not mean that the case cannot be appealed and, in many cases, decisions have been found to be incorrect.
