Career History: Graduated with BA(Law) from Sheffield University. Trained at Pannone Blackburn Solicitors in Manchester, London and Brussels. Worked initially as a company commercial solicitor at Hammond Suddards in Leeds and Bradford then at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
Appointed a Principal Legal Officer with Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council (finishing there as a member of the Council’s internal enquiry team investigating serious fraud and corruption).Secretary and Solicitor to Derbyshire Dales District Council then Clerk to Lincolnshire Police Authority.
Established own niche solicitor’s practice in 2004, advising local authorities, police authorities, councillors, commercial and private clients throughout England and Wales on public sector issues, corporate governance, planning and employment.
Qualified as a civil and commercial mediator with the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, Regent’s College, London in March 2005. Member of the Association of Midlands Mediators.
Personal: Vice President of Lincolnshire Law Society. Member of the Council of the Law Society of England and Wales. Trustee of Voluntary Action East Lindsey. Independent Member of the Standards Committee of West Lindsey District Council. Member of the Court of Governors of Sheffield University. Married to a Louth GP with three children.
