Bridge McFarland LLP was instructed on behalf of our Client as a result of an accident at work. This accident led to them sustaining significant injuries to their foot.

The client was engaged in completing joinery work on a building development when, walking across some boards which had not been correctly secured, they fell from a height.

A claim was initiated against three Defendants, none of whom were prepared to accept responsibility which necessitated the issue of court proceedings.

As a consequence of the accident our client sustained a significant fracture to their foot which required surgery. A number of months off work were necessary for our Client to recover, and several screws were inserted into the injured to stabilise the fracture.

Expert evidence was required from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, and an orthotist (an expert who recommended specialist footwear to benefit the client in the long term) in order for the claim to be quantified.

Our client has unfortunately been left with permanent foot issues which will interfere with their work and hobbies.

Liability was agreed after the issuing of proceedings with the defendants agreeing a 50/50 liability split.

A near six-figure-sum was secured in damages after negotiations were undertaken on the Clients behalf by Bridge McFarland LLP.
