Local commercial lawyers to make soapbox derby debut

Bridge McFarland LLP are excited to announce our entry into the Humber Bridge Soapbox Derby.

The race is held annually at the North Bank Viewing Area, and this year a team led by two lawyers in our commercial team in Grimsby will be taking to the track in their handmade cart.

Partner Kate Seward and Associate Solicitor Joe Pepper, joined by family and friends, have begun the process of creating the racer, with all of the component parts being custom made by the team themselves.  As newcomers to the well established annual race, the team are hoping for a flying start.

Joe, who has recently been busy preparing parts of the suspension system, commented on their work so far: “The design and build is well underway and we are trying to be as resourceful as possible with supplies, we are very grateful to have received kind donations from Kloeckner Metals UK in Grimsby, it looks like there’s lots of busy weekends ahead to build the best possible cart we can”

The Bridge McFarland team will be fundraising for the Hey Smile Foundation, charity partner of The Humber Bridge Soapbox Derby 2020.  Check back for more updates as the construction progresses.
