Conveyancing Assistant

Salary: Dependent on experience

Bridge McFarland LLP is looking to recruit a full time Conveyancing Assistant to join our Residential Conveyancing Department at our Hull, Market Rasen, Grimsby, or Lincoln office. 

The Conveyancing Assistant duties include:

• Typing of correspondence, reports, and other documents - some audio typing included
• Open and close files
• Arranging client appointments
• Progression of case management under supervision
• Updating third party portals - the Land Registry
• Answering telephone calls promptly, taking messages and following up where necessary
• To use own initiative and be able to work as part of a team

The ideal candidate must:
• Have a high level of confidentiality.
• Have an in depth understanding of the legal secretarial role and administration processes
• Have excellent organisational and communication skills
• Be able to work as part of a team and communicate the team’s needs to others.
• Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Be able to prioritise and organise workload.
• Be reliable and diligent, with good attention to detail.
• Be able to organise, influence and monitor the allocation of work amongst the team (in a co-ordinating role)

Hull Office

Legal Secretary

Location: Hull
Salary: Dependent on experience

Bridge McFarland LLP is expanding their Personal Injury team in Hull and are looking to recruit a full time Legal Secretary.

• Key duties include but are not limited to, file opening, digital audio transcription, typing legal documents, paying disbursements, assisting clients in person and on the telephone, arranging meetings and appointments and maintaining an efficient filing system of documents held electronically.

The ideal candidate must have excellent secretarial and client handling skills combined with the ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a positive helpful attitude. Experience of working in a Personal Injury department is preferred. 

Candidates must have a wide vocabulary and a good knowledge of spelling and grammar with excellent communication and IT skills. They should have the ability to work on their own initiative, as well as part of a team. Previous experience is preferred.
